Los Lagos Golf Course Retains Prestigious "Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary" Status

San Jose, CA – Los Lagos Golf Course is proud to announce that it has once again been recognized as a "Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary" through the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses, an Audubon International program. This esteemed certification highlights Los Lagos Golf Course’s continued commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable management practices.

The Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses encourages golf courses to protect and preserve the natural environment. Los Lagos Golf Course has demonstrated excellence in environmental planning, wildlife and habitat management, chemical use reduction and safety, water conservation, and outreach and education.

Los Lagos Golf Course has implemented numerous initiatives to support local wildlife and conserve natural resources. Efforts include the installation of birdhouses and bat boxes, the creation of naturalized areas to support native plant species, and the use of integrated pest management techniques to minimize chemical usage. Additionally, the course has made significant strides in water conservation by utilizing efficient irrigation systems and drought-resistant landscaping.

The Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses, endorsed by the United States Golf Association, provides information and guidance to help courses preserve and enhance wildlife habitat, and protect natural resources. Golf courses in the United States, Australia, Canada, Central America, Europe, and Southeast Asia have also achieved certification in the program.
